Jonatan Christie and the men’s doubles pair Fajar/Rian claimed the title of All England 2024 on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Utilita Arena Birmingham. On the same day, the Indonesian Women’s Doubles also showed their excellence.
Meilysa Trias Puspitasari and Rachel Allessya Rose secured the championship title after defeating Japan’s Rui Hirokami and Yuna Kato with a score of 21-12, 21-28 in the final of the Orleans Masters 2024 at Palais des Sports, Orleans, France.
The Chairman of the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) Letjen TNI Purn Marciano Norman congratulated the Indonesian athletes who successfully won the championship at the Orleans Masters 2024.
“As the Chairman of KONI Pusat, I congratulate and highly appreciate the Indonesian Sports Patriots in the badminton sport who have brought honor to the nation and country through their remarkable achievements,” he said. Moreover, the winning athletes are young and have the potential to further develop.
“On the same day, badminton showed outstanding achievements in two championships, All England 2024 and Orleans Masters 2024, this can be a great motivation for other badminton athletes, especially the young athletes,” he continued.
In addition to giving congratulations, the Chairman of KONI Pusat also appreciates the Central Board of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PP. PBSI). “I am grateful for the hard work of the athletes, coaches, officials, and PP. PBSI under the leadership of Mr. Agung Firman Sampurna, which continues to produce successful athletes at both the national and international levels. I hope that in the 2024 Olympics, Indonesian badminton can deliver its best performance, resulting in maximum achievements,” added the Chairman of KONI Pusat.
It is hoped that the badminton athletes who will compete in the 21st National Sports Week (PON) in Aceh-North Sumatra will be motivated and train harder so that they can deliver outstanding performances in the future.
