Jordanian Minister of Defense and President-elect for the period 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, held a meeting with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan in Amman on Monday (10/6) shortly after his arrival in the country.
The meeting was part of Prabowo’s activities representing Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the high-level conference “Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza,” scheduled for June 11, 2024.
Prabowo greeted King Abdullah II with warm regards and conveyed greetings from President Jokowi during the meeting.
In return, King Abdullah II congratulated Prabowo on his election as President in the 2024 presidential election and expressed his appreciation for Prabowo’s presence in Jordan representing Jokowi at the conference on Gaza.
Prabowo highlighted Jordan’s active partnership with Indonesia in advocating for the Palestinian people and expressed Indonesia’s deep concern for the worsening situation in Gaza.
“The Indonesian government is closely monitoring the escalating situation in Gaza, where the number of casualties and injuries continues to rise. Indonesia stands in solidarity with the people of Gaza during these challenging times,” Prabowo remarked.
