Hambalang, Bogor— Defense Minister (Menhan) of Indonesia and president-elect for the 2024-2029 period Prabowo Subianto performed the Eid al-Adha prayer at Masjid Nurul Wathan located in Padepokan Garuda Yaksa, Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Monday (17/6).
Prabowo arrived at Masjid Nurul Wathan wearing a white koko shirt and a black peci (traditional cap). As he entered the mosque, Prabowo greeted the local residents.
He then hurried inside the mosque and headed to the front row to perform the Eid al-Adha prayer, which started at 07:00 AM local time.
After the prayer, Prabowo greeted the residents and exchanged greetings.
“Eid Mubarak, Sir,” the residents said to Prabowo.
The residents were also enthusiastic about taking photos with Prabowo, including the women and children present.
“Eid Mubarak,” the children said to Prabowo.
“Eid Mubarak,” Prabowo said while hugging and kissing the foreheads of the children present.
During this Eid al-Adha 1445 H moment, Prabowo drew inspiration from the story of the Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail, which is about sacrificing and distributing the meat to those in need to bring happiness and provide the best nutrition.
This year, Prabowo sacrificed a total of 145 cows distributed in several regions. 89 cows were distributed to religious scholars, habaibs, Islamic mass organizations, pesantrens (Islamic boarding schools), and Mosque Prosperity Councils (DKM).
Meanwhile, at Prabowo’s residence in Hambalang, there are 38 cows to be slaughtered and distributed to the local community. Additionally, at the Gerindra Party Headquarters, there are 20 cows and 5 goats to be distributed.
