Old Deer, band from Semarang, has returned as part of the new generation that deserves to be reckoned with. After making waves with three previous singles – “Orangnya Menarik,” “Lovebirds,” and “Song Of Life” – this trio, consisting of Dani Cahyanto (vocals & rhythm guitar), Domenico Pinandhito (lead guitar), and Rifqi Kurniawan (drums), has now released their latest single entitled “Baik-Baik Saja.”
“Baik-Baik Saja” tells the story of a man who faces various challenges and twists in his life journey. Dani explains that this man still finds his happiness, despite the regrets and failures he has experienced. The song conveys a message that there is unexpected goodness that emerges in the most unexpected moments, bringing happiness amidst despair.
The lyrics imply that even though the results achieved may not always be satisfying or meet expectations, it does not mean total failure. On the contrary, in every failure, there is always a lesson or positive side that can be learned. As expressed in the lyrics, “don’t get lost in regret, the world turns and time goes on, happiness will certainly come to you.”
The music of “Baik-Baik Saja” creates a pop atmosphere with a combination of intense rock riffs and captivating guitar melodies. This composition accompanies light and floating vocals, giving confidence that “even if slightly hurt, everything will be fine.” These elements constitute the essence of this song, which is able to captivate listeners from the beginning.
The single “Baik-Baik Saja” will also be part of Old Deer’s mini album entitled Alur. This EP is planned to contain four songs that present lyrics with a balance between English and Indonesian languages.
The consistency of quality in every single released by Old Deer is a characteristic that sets them apart from other bands. Many bands only have one or two standout singles, but Old Deer has successfully created four strong songs that showcase their creative energy. This latest single is a preview of the upcoming works that will appear on their mini album.
“Baik-Baik Saja” will be available on digital music platforms through Irama Records starting September 20, 2024, ready to greet listeners with messages of optimism and hope.
