President Prabowo Subianto recently met with Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono and Deputy Minister of KKP Didit Herdiawan at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta to discuss the issue of unauthorized sea fence construction in Tangerang, Banten Province. Sakti Wahyu Trenggono stated that the construction was done without the necessary permits, which goes against the regulations outlined in the Job Creation Law. Consequently, the construction has been sealed pending further investigation into its ownership and legality. President Prabowo has instructed a comprehensive legal assessment of the situation, involving cooperation with entities such as the Indonesian Navy and the Marine Security Agency (Bakamla). The goal is to ensure adherence to legal procedures and prevent potential negative consequences like erosion. This proactive approach illustrates the government’s dedication to upholding regulations and safeguarding marine resources.
