National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is actively promoting local employment by recruiting workers for the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) from individuals living in extreme poverty and general poverty. Redy Hendra Gunawan, Special Staff to BGN, stated that a minimum of 30% of the personnel in each SPPG will be chosen from underprivileged households as per the President’s directive to ensure job creation through the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program. Currently, there are 2,378 SPPG units in collaboration with 6,076 local economic institutions, with 93,572 community members volunteering in the program. The MBG Program has reached over 7.4 million individuals across the country, including students, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers. BGN aims to launch an additional 2,401 SPPG units in the next 10 days to serve around 15 million beneficiaries, expanding the program’s impact. This initiative demonstrates a significant effort to support employment opportunities and address nutritional needs in underprivileged communities.
