StoreDot recently shared the remarkable results of their electric vehicle battery test, in a rapid charging study that has been conducted 2,000 times with the result of providing the best performance and maintaining over 80 percent of its original capacity.
Arena EV reported on Monday, StoreDot’s battery is not only able to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in 10 minutes. But now, the battery has proven to exceed industry standards in terms of longevity.
The ability to sustain this positive result lies in the silicon material. StoreDot’s battery exchanges traditional graphite with the battery, allowing it to handle the intensive demands of what the company calls Extreme Fast Charging (XFC).
This is a significant leap, and investors in automotive manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Polestar, and VinFast see this opportunity and strongly support this company.
In the future, the company has an ambitious target. By 2026, they target a 4-minute charging time, and their goal is three minutes by 2028.
Of course, bringing this technology from the laboratory to the consumer’s home is a major step that the company needs to take, and it will not happen overnight. But StoreDot’s progress is very promising, and many are looking forward to more surprises to enhance the EV ecosystem.
