Daniel Sugiharto, CEO of Barcode Gokart, stated that the presence of this gokart playground was due to his concern that Indonesia still lacks international standard gokart tracks for gokart enthusiasts who aim to excel in the sport.
“Seeing that Indonesia does not have a decent racing track, we are even outperformed by neighboring countries, such as Malaysia, which has developed more in providing international standard racing tracks,” said Daniel Sugiharto in Jakarta on Thursday.
He hopes that with the presence of the latest facilities that meet international standards, from the track to other supporting facilities, they can produce high-achieving athletes who can enter the world of Formula 1 racing.
He mentioned that most Formula 1 drivers started their careers on gokart tracks. Therefore, they are serious about providing various facilities, especially units that can reach speeds of up to 70 km/h.
“People who want to race in F1 usually start with gokarts. We want to provide facilities to cultivate this talent with units that are proper, with speeds up to 70 km/h for the pro class,” he said.
Not only providing top-notch facilities, Barcode Gokart also plans to introduce a special class for those who aspire to have a career in motorsports, especially Formula 1.
“We also plan to open an academic class, where we will train them starting from skills to their mental state to be able to compete at the international level,” he said.
Barcode Gokart uses units brought directly from France under the brand Sodikart. This company is well-known among gokart enthusiasts abroad.
This karting sports provider has gained a positive reputation among professional kart drivers. They have invested their energy and expertise in delivering high-quality units for beginners to professionals.
Barcode Gokart uses the Norm NF S52-002 series units. These gokarts use a 600-watt Brushless Electric Motor and are designed to provide enjoyable acceleration.
“Currently, we have 20 units for adults and 6 units for children. The track length for adults is 280 meters with 18 turns that will thrill visitors,” said Daniel.
To enjoy this facility, visitors must pay starting from Rp150,000 for the beginner class, Rp250,000 for Advance, and Rp325,000 for Pro per session or equivalent to seven minutes.
