Head of Brand PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI), Rifki Setiawan, announced that the official launch of Chery Tiggo 5X will take place in mid-June. The price that was announced at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024 will remain the same until the official launch, where there might be changes in the pricing.
At the IIMS 2024, more than 100 units of the Tiggo 5X variant were already pre-ordered, with the highest variant, Champion, dominating the demand with 80% of total bookings.
Despite the recent incident in the Philippines regarding rear axle issues in the Tiggo 5X model, Chery Indonesia assures that the vehicles imported to Indonesia will undergo thorough inspections to ensure the quality control standards are met. The company sees this incident as an opportunity to enhance the quality control processes before the launch in Indonesia.
In the Philippines, some Tiggo 5X owners faced disappointment due to flaws in the rear axle caused by imperfect welding in the component. Chery Philippines has requested the affected owners to bring their vehicles to authorized Chery dealerships for inspection and repair.
As a result of this incident, 90 units of the Tiggo 5X had to be recalled for further examination to guarantee the safety of the owners. Chery Indonesia is committed to maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring customer satisfaction with their products.
