Indonesia’s Minister of Defense and President-elect for the 2024-2029 term, Prabowo Subianto, recently concluded an official tour across Europe from July 24 to 31, 2024.
During his visit, Prabowo met with leaders from France, Serbia, Turkey, and Russia, engaging in discussions to enhance cooperation in various fields.
In France, he met with President Emmanuel Macron to discuss global security issues and plans for defense cooperation. He also attended the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympics and met with FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
Prabowo then traveled to Serbia to meet with President Aleksandar Vucic, aiming to strengthen political dialogue and economic cooperation between the two countries.
His next stop was Turkey, where he met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to discuss bilateral relations in defense and other areas. Prabowo also visited the Ozdemir Bayraktar National Technology Center in Istanbul.
Prabowo’s final destination was Russia, where he met with President Vladimir Putin to explore cooperation in education, tourism, food security, and defense. They also discussed potential collaboration in nuclear energy and invited Russia to a defense exhibition in Indonesia.
Overall, Prabowo’s European tour was focused on strengthening Indonesia’s partnerships and exploring new avenues for cooperation with these key countries.
