Jakarta – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has issued direct orders to Indonesian Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto to coordinate with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on managing a field hospital in Gaza.
Prabowo announced this after his meeting with the President at the State Palace on Thursday (6/6/2024).
“I just concluded a meeting with the President where I reported on various issues, including the situation in Gaza. The President expressed strong support, instructing me to ensure we are prepared to send a hospital,” Prabowo stated.
Prabowo also noted that alongside the hospital, the President approved the deployment of medical personnel to Gaza to work in conjunction with several partner nations.
“Particularly Middle Eastern countries that are also running hospitals there, such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE). When I attend the summit in Jordan, I plan to visit the UAE first to discuss this,” Prabowo added.
