Band indie-rock Rrag from Bogor has embarked on a new journey in their music career by releasing a single titled “Sebentar” on May 6, 2025. The song, accompanied by a music video, marks Rrag’s official signing with Kolibri Rekords. With lyrics that touch on longing, loss, and the concept of “coming home”, Rrag takes listeners on a deep reflective journey. For them, “coming home” is not just about returning to a place, but also reconnecting with loved ones. The music video for “Sebentar” serves as a visual medium that enhances the song’s message. Directed by Arafat Zawaid (Acil) and written by Heta Satria Ramadhan, the video presents an absurd narrative centered around a man named Bana, played by Karfianda “Toyor” Suryoutoro. Living under the pressure of masculinity expectations and always saying “yes” to please others, Bana eventually rebels by embracing his true self – free, spontaneous, and unpredictable. His wild journey throughout a day symbolizes liberation from societal constructs that bind him. The appearance of Rrag’s two members, Wili and Damas, metaphorically depicts time constantly moving forward, leaving Bana trapped in past memories. However, the story concludes with a heartwarming moment as Bana falls asleep in the arms of someone dear, illustrating that home can be a warm embrace, not just a living space. The production of the music video was spontaneous, giving richness to the work. The shooting locations held emotional significance for Rrag. Taman Kencana, where they debuted their EP showcase, and Kristal shop, the setting for their next single cover, became part of the visual narrative. Unexpected cameos from Tari, who will star in the upcoming “Kristal” music video, and the Carry car from the “Bayang” video, show how Rrag consistently builds a connected creative universe. “Sebentar” was written by Acil and Damas Hermansjah, inspired by personal experiences of what home means. The song originated from anecdotes of friends unable to return home during Eid due to work obligations, evolving into a deeper reflection. Acil shared his sense of not having a permanent home since the pandemic. His mother lives with another family, while he leads a transient life. This background gave birth to the poignant lyric “coming home or into an embrace” capturing the emotional essence of the song. Damas added a more personal dimension to the narrative. Since his mother’s passing and selling of the childhood home, the concept of “coming home” became abstract. His father now lives in Bangka Belitung with a new spouse, leaving Damas to reminisce Eid with tears and longing to hug or visit his mother’s grave. “Sebentar” serves as solace for anyone who has experienced loss and yearning for home in any form. It is the opening track from Rrag’s debut album ‘Langit’ set to release on August 8, 2025. The album promises to delve into familiar yet emotional everyday stories, exploring themes of loss and hope through Rrag’s distinctive indie-rock sound.
